Kampala’s infrastructure

About the project

Due to the absence of a reliable multi-modal transport network, road transport continues to serve as a lifeline of Uganda’s economy and is responsible for the movement of over 95% of goods and passenger traffic within Uganda.

JICA’s support in the transport sector is geared towards vitalising the economy of Uganda and neighboring countries through the development of international corridors and the improvement of traffic congestion and movement of logistics and people.

We produced a documentary to highlight their impact and achievements in building Uganda's infrastructure for the Fly Over Project.

Strategy

Documenting infrastructure like roads is very different from documenting people. How do you show a 2km road? How about roundabouts? We greatly relied on drone filming to capture the different infrastructure developments.

Used together with the interviews, the outcome was a great mini-documentary with a compelling story and cinematic shots.

Next step: We are currently filming a long form documentary about this project!
